Born early 2024 in Gothenburg, Sweden, Modern Guilt set out to channel the raw energy of ’80s hardcore, pulling influence from the genre’s pioneers while keeping it sharp and current. Expect the spirit of Negative Approach, Youth of Today, Cro-Mags & Uniform Choice, topped with a modern edge and enough hooks to have you ready to move up front after the first listen. “Unlike our earlier releases we wrote everything for this album together in the practice space which broadened the influences and were able to bring the best of each of us into it. Recorded live and mixed by Per Stålberg at Welfare Sounds Studios (August 2025) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, the album sounds exactly how it should: clear, aggressive, and loud. Lyrically, Modern Guilt stay rooted in Straight Edge, political awareness & personal responsibility, — but above all, the message is PMA.
